How are the two organisms in the photograph above similar and different?
Active Studying:
I require all of my students actively study 10-15 minutes every night. This prevents students from cramming the night before.
Examples of Ways to Actively Study:
A student should find a method for active studying that works for him/her. Examples include:
- Flashcards
- S-C-I-E-N-C-E: Play the basketball half-court game of H-O-R-S-E, but in order to have a chance to shoot the ball, the student must answer a study question correctly
- Memory: Students can make Memory card pairs - 1 with a review question, 1 with the answer
Extra Credit:
The only opportunity to receive extra credit in my class is to answer challenging bonus questions on test or quizzes. Occasionally there will be instances to earn extra credit on projects.
Attendance:
Attendance is crucial to being successful academically. If you are absent, you have two calendar days to make-up work. For each additional day absent, you will have one additional day to make-up work. Make-up work will not be accepted past this approved time.
Parking Lot:
In order to foster an environment of scientific inquisitiveness, students are afforded the chance to have scientific inquiries answered using the Parking Lot in my classroom. Students need to write their question, name, and block number on a Post-It note and place in on the Parking Lot. When time allows, I will answer the questions for which I have researched a correct answer. Please remember, I am not your personal Wikipedia. Try discovering the answer to your question through personal research first.
